Location

I work from easily accessible rooms in Islington, just a five minute walk from Highbury and Islington Station.

Initial consultation

During initial consultations, we will begin to get to know each other. I will ask questions about what brings you to therapy, about what is happening in your life or relationship now, and also about your early life (for couples the latter may take place in individual sessions - see below).

Terms and Fees

With both individuals and couples I tend to work on an open-ended basis, but also offer short-term work where appropriate. We can discuss your needs when we meet.

Working with individuals:

After an initial consultation we will arrange a time to meet weekly. Sessions are each 50 minutes long, at the same time and day each week.

Fees:

Payment is due for any sessions missed or cancelled by you.

Working with couples:

I would tend to see you both for an initial session, then have one individual session with you each, before resuming working together from there on.

Sessions are normally 50 minutes, but I am sometimes able to offer longer sessions of 75 minutes (where possible). We will either meet weekly, or at mutually agreed intervals.

I hold a ‘no secrets’ policy: this is usually most applicable to anything arising within the individual sessions. However if something does comes up, I will support you in bringing this into the couples sessions.

Couples sessions are recorded for reflection and supervision purposes in view of ongoing learning and development. This is a standard of care in couples therapy - when I am able to review sessions I am better equipped to see/ understand more clearly, and therefore intervene more effectively. Recordings are strictly confidential and kept in line with GDPR. Before starting sessions I will ask for your signed consent for this.
